In the heart of Los Angeles, Harwell Fencing & Gates stands as a beacon of creativity, innovation, and artistic craftsmanship. Founded by the father-son duo, Arian and Jake Harwell, our company has been redefining the landscape of custom fencing and gate design since 2005.
The Harwell Legacy: A Story of Artistry and Innovation
Our story begins in 1986, with a young Arian Harwell learning the art of woodworking beside his father, Jake. Together, they ventured into the creation of rustic furniture, laying the foundation for what would become a lifelong pursuit of artistic excellence.

Our Mission
At Harwell Fencing & Gates, we aim to revolutionize outdoor spaces with imaginative installations, offering homeowners both tranquility and aesthetic appeal. HISTORY
I’m grateful to my dad for instilling in me this drive and enthusiasm for art, music, and creativity!
Since 1986, this father and son team has been working together as an artistic,
family duo who is constantly raising the bar on what it means to be creative.
Starting out with furniture. Custom, Rustic Furniture that many people were searching for because everything else has been done before.
Jake and Arian built all of this rustic furniture in a small workshop, located right on the side of Highway 68 in Rinconada, NM. The structure still stands and was known as The Dirt Floor Gallery.
Proud to be working as a Father and Son Team for over 37 years.
Together they have over 70 years of combined experience as custom woodworkers and high end craftsmen.
We set up at the annual Dixon Art Studio Tour in Dixon, NM-
Also had a shop in Taos, NM. This was in the late 90s where we worked so hard for over a year. We moved up there with hopes of making some huge deals in the “Big City” 😉
Those huge deals were hard to come by, but we still were making it happen.
As Father and son, we were unstoppable and still continue rockin it here in LA.

In 2013, we expanded our reach by opening the Harwell Studio, a 7500 square foot space just outside of the Culver City Arts District.

Since November 2013, We acquired a fantastic location.
The Harwell Studio is a 7500 square foot space, just outside of Culver City Arts District.
At our showroom, clients can explore various stain colors and design patterns while envisioning their projects. We prioritize assisting clients in finalizing stain/color choices and design concepts, which often get overlooked when hiring a fence contractor in Los Angeles. Having this space allows us to provide clients with a firsthand preview of our craftsmanship and attention to detail. At Harwell Fencing & Gates, we offer both design expertise and fencing services under one roof, ensuring a seamless experience. Our goal is to transform your environment into something beyond functional, adding stunning enhancements to your yard and property.
